00:15The Department of Information and Communications Technology, or DICT,
00:21will continue to strive to strengthen the Common Tower Program, or CTP, of the government.
00:26This is in accordance with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s order
00:29to give priority to the CTP to strengthen the provision of services of the government.
00:35Under the CTP, the government will build Signal Towers
00:39where mobile network operators will lease out
00:43to lower the cost of cell phone services.
00:47We will build it in remote areas so that we can provide free Wi-Fi
00:53for those who are geographically isolated in disadvantaged areas.
00:57The DICT is also promoting the implementation of the National Broadband Plan, or Masa Broadband.
01:04In fact, Phase 1 was completed last year.
01:08Phase 2 and 3 will start in 2025.
01:13Our target is to implement this.
01:15Next year, we will implement Phase 4 and 5
01:21that would connect the Visayas with the greater parts of Mindanao.
01:26Meanwhile, the DICT is encouraging people to have control over the free Wi-Fi
01:31of private establishments such as malls and hotels.
01:35Its aim is to protect the rights of the public against hackers.
