There is widespread criticism against the authorities accusing them of not handling the Los Angeles wildfires properly, the editor for KNX News Radio in Los Angeles Jerry Edling says.  #LosAngeles #LosAngelesFires

00:00Is there a sense that the authorities are doing enough to protect people's homes?

00:06It all depends on who you speak with.

00:10There are a lot of people who have been critical of public officials, particularly on the right,

00:18public officials in terms of their handling of forestry management and preparing for the

00:24fires.

00:25And then Mayor Karen Bass of Los Angeles, of course, was in a conference in Africa when

00:33the whole thing broke out.

00:35And so she's been under a critical eye.

00:38So for the most part, yeah, there is a lot of criticism of public officials, and it doesn't

00:45show any signs of letting up.

00:48Another thing they were concerned about is the lack of water, because at one point firefighters

00:52almost ran out of water in fighting the fires.

00:56So we can expect that to continue until they get sort of more of a master plan on how to

01:03deal with future fires.
