The King of Fighters XIII Challenge Mode (combo trials) Character: EX Iori Yagami Objective: finish all character's trials in the challenge mode and redo the same combo in the training mode, where you can see the damage, stun, and inputs. The combo in the challenge mode is done in the regular dualshock 4 and the combo in the training mode is done in an arcade stick.

Tips: - Hold Button Technique: It is the act of doing a special move (or super move) a bit earlier than you should and holding the attack(s) button(s) involved in the command to make the game store your special move for some extra time. This is very handy to link special moves into each other since, if this technique is well executed, it guarantees that the special move will come out at the first frame as possible without the need of 1 frame precision.
Trial 3: you must run precisely after the grab to activate close HP in time. Trial 3 Easy: add ↓↙← + HP before →↘↓↙← + HK. With this modification you don't need to run, just do far HP to complete the combo. Trial 4: LK into HP is a tight link. Trial 4 Easy: - Add a delayed HD Mode activation (press LK+HP) to make the link easier. - Add ↓↙← + LP + HP ~ ↓↙← + LP + HP ~ ↓↘→ + LP + HP before the super to a much easier execution. Trial 4, 5: super follow-up mash ↓↘→ and press and hold LP + HP in moment of the the explosion. Trial 5 Easy: add ↓↘→ + LP + HP after the last ↓↙← + HP to easier execution. Trial 6: →↓↘ + HP into ↓↘→ + LP + HP must be delayed as much as possible to not activate the unwanted super (very hard to do). Trial 6: Do a good walk forward before the last ← + LK in the air, or it will miss. I jumped forward and kept holding forward and just pressed B, when Iori completely crosses-up Takuma. Trial 6 Easy: Activate HD mode and do →↓↘→ + HP ~ hold → ~ press LP + HP for much easier execution. Trial 7: - Slight delay the last 2 ↓↙← + HP in the end. You wan't Takuma to go higher, because it gives you more time to do →↘↓↙← + LK + HK. Maybe using ↓↙← + LP instead of ↓↙← + HP should make it easier, but I didn't try it in this combo. - Use the Hold Button Technique to hit →↘↓↙← + LK + HK more easily. Trial 8: Use →↓↘→ + HP ~ ↓↘→ + HP as a shortcut for the super in the end for easier execution. Trial 9: - Delay ↓↙← + HP after →↓↘ + HP as much as possible, or it will activate the unwanted super. - After you freeze the opponent with "↓↘→ + LP + HP" you can you use L
