00:00Abdullah is a desert rescue specialist, using his powered paraglider to soar over towering

00:10dunes coming to the aid of those in need.

00:15Here we use paramotors to search for missing people in the desert.

00:18Due to the terrain, some areas are inaccessible and the vehicle visibility is very limited

00:24for what lies behind the dunes, but paragliding makes it much easier.

00:32If I spot someone, as the pilot, I must quickly find a safe place to land.

00:45Landings are always done against the wind, which helps ease the process.

00:49Instead of descending abruptly, the wind lifts me gently, allowing a smooth arrival on the

00:55ground.

00:56Once I've reached the person, I immediately check their blood sugar levels using this

01:05glucometer.

01:06We're also equipped to monitor oxygen levels and blood pressure.

01:15Communication with my ground colleagues is done via this walkie-talkie.

01:19If there's no network coverage, we use this type of portable GPS device, which transmits

01:26my coordinates to the team assisting remotely with the search operation.

01:33It must be said, the empty quarter is a very challenging desert, as its name suggests.
