Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim arrived in the United Kingdom (UK) capital on Wednesday (Jan 15) for a five-day working visit to Malaysia’s fourth largest trading partner among European countries.

00:00Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim arrived in the United Kingdom capital on Wednesday
00:07for a five-day working visit to Malaysia's fourth-largest trading partner among European
00:12countries. The aircraft carrying the Prime Minister landed at the Stansted Airport in
00:18London at 6.50am Malaysia time from Abu Dhabi, where the Premier had just concluded his three-day
00:26visit to the United Arab Emirates. This visit, which is at the invitation of his UK counterpart
00:33Keir Starmer, marks Anwar's first visit to the UK since taking office in November 2022.
00:41Anwar is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with Starmer to review the progress of Malaysia-UK
00:46bilateral relations and discuss efforts to strengthen collaboration in trade and investment.
00:52The two leaders are also expected to discuss matters related to higher education, climate
00:57change and renewable energy, agri-commodity and tourism, among others. Both Prime Ministers
01:03are also expected to touch on regional and international issues and exchange views on
01:10ASEAN-UK dialogue relations. On January 19, the Prime Minister will depart for Brussels
01:17to continue his international engagements.
