00:43That was the inspiration of pride, self-respect and self-honour.

00:50for which they sacrificed everything.

00:53Chandra Shekhar Raja, in the company garden of Allahabad,

00:56while firing his revolver bullets at his British enemies,

01:00when the last bullet of the revolver was left,

01:03he started worrying that the foreign bullets of the foreign revolvers

01:08might enter his body and make it impure.

01:12That is why he took the last bullet of his revolver

01:16and went to India and got freedom.

01:20Who can forget Asfa Kulla Khan?

01:23He was 21 years old.

01:25His mother wanted him to get married.

01:28But Asfa Kulla had the passion to get freedom in his heart.

01:33He kept avoiding his mother's insistence.

01:37But when he was hanged for killing the British,

01:42the magistrate asked him,

01:44Tell me Asfa Kulla, what is your last wish?

01:47Whatever your last wish is,

01:49this message will be conveyed to your mother.

01:52Asfa Kulla was brave.

01:55Asfa Kulla Khan, the richest man in the world,

01:58smiled and said,

02:00My mother's last wish was for Asfa Kulla to marry her son.

02:05Today I am standing here.

02:07Go and convey this message to my mother

02:10that your son is going to stand on the throne of death

02:15to fulfill your wish.

02:17This was the feeling of self-respect.

02:19This was the feeling of true self-respect.

02:21Chandrasekhar Raja, Sardar Bhagat Singh,

02:25who were inspired to do their best for the country.

02:28And I believe that in the security of our country,

02:31those who have given their lives,

02:33those who have decided to join the army,

02:36they also have this feeling of true self-respect

02:39which inspires them.

02:41They know that our lives can be lost at any time.

02:44And even though they understand this truth,

02:47they join the army.

02:49They sacrifice themselves.

02:51For the security of India's prosperity and glory,

02:54they do their duty well here.

02:58Today, if I am present here on Veterans Day,

03:01I bow my head to all the veterans

03:04and all their family members.

03:06Where I salute them,

03:08if I am present here among all of you,

04:13for the convenience of veterans
