00:00What are the benefits of this project for the people of Mumbai and the entire MMI region?
00:18Thank you. I can say that the benefits for the people of Mumbai have already been achieved by the Mumbai Urja Marag project.
00:29Because this project has solved the problems.
00:35In 2020, Mumbai witnessed a blackout.
00:38After that, there were frequent blackouts.
00:44But the authorities and the engineers were able to manage it.
00:51They did not allow the blackout.
00:53But they had to do load shedding.
00:55The main reason was that the transmission capacity to Mumbai was limited.
01:03And because the transmission capacity was limited, it was not possible to get power from outside.
01:15And last April, when the heat has increased, Mumbai has touched 4,300-4,500 MW.
01:25So when there is so much power demand,
01:27and the capacity to get power from outside is limited,
01:32the chances of load shedding or sudden rise of load due to blackouts or brownouts are very less.
01:48Mumbai was a threat.
01:52This project has completely solved that threat.
01:55This is a major contribution.
01:59And because of this project, Mumbai has got an excellent transmission corridor.
02:05More than 2,000 MW of power can come through this corridor to Mumbai MMR.
02:12What is Urja Marag project?
02:19And what is the importance of this project?
02:22And what is the importance of transmission?
02:29It is a good question.
02:31In simple words, it is like a network of roads.
02:38Roads are connected to each other.
02:40And we can go anywhere.
02:42Transmission is basically a road for power.
02:46If you need energy or power, you will get it through transmission.
02:50There are power plants in different places.
02:54We have one near Boisar.
02:57You get power from Boisar through some kind of a device.
03:01The transmission lines that we see on the tower have power flow.
03:06So transmission is a big part of logistics.
03:11You will do production and you have demand.
03:14But logistics will connect the two.
03:17That is transmission.
03:18We are living in a time where we need green power.
03:26There is global warming.
03:28So we need green power.
03:30Renewable power is very important.
03:33And it is true.
03:35Renewable power is a must for all countries.
03:39To bring renewable power to the right place,
03:42Renewable power plants will come from different places.
03:46So there is a need for connectivity.
03:50If someone wants to build a solar power plant,
03:55and if it is suitable,
03:58they can install the capacity.
04:00But if there is no transmission line to connect it,
04:02or if there is no required capacity,
04:05the power will not come from there.
04:08The plant will not be able to supply it to anyone.
04:11So this is the transmission line that connects the user and the producer.
04:18And this is the transmission network.
04:20So the stronger the transmission network,
04:23the more flexibility you have.
04:26And you can move faster towards renewable energy consumption.
04:31If you are in any power plant,
04:33be it in Rajasthan or Gujarat,
04:35or in any Maratha village,
04:37if you have transmission connectivity,
04:38the power can go from any place to any place.
04:43India is such a country,
04:51where the entire grid is interconnected.
04:56One nation, one grid.
04:58This is the reality.
