00:16Hailing from Misamis Occidental,

00:19Sofronio has always felt connected to music.

00:22Joining singing contest after singing contest

00:25as early as seven years old.

00:27Facing career heartaches time after time

00:29and waiting for his big moment for more than 20 years.

00:35But last December, he finally made a mark,

00:38not just in the Philippines, but the whole world.

00:42After winning The Voice USA season 26

00:45under coach Michael Buble,

00:47making him the first Filipino and Asian champion

00:51for The Voice USA.

00:53Today, we celebrate the historic win

00:55of a true singing champion

00:57and a new global Pinoy pride.

02:56and wherever and whatever that dream is,

03:01sana po ipagpatuloy niyo kasi my dream became a reality

03:06after so many tries, so never stop.

03:16But you are living proof that dreams do come true.

03:22we have alto, soprano, and Sofronio.

03:30Now, what is one of the things that you learned?

03:32One of the most important or most precious things

03:35you learned from my kumpare, coach, Michael Bubley?

03:40He would always tell me to be at peace every time.

03:43You don't have to be technically perfect

03:45as long as you just send the message of love and hope.

03:49And he would always remind me to be a Filipino.

03:54Can you believe that?

03:55Yeah.

04:19it's gonna be at Waterfront Cebu City Hotel.

04:23And I am so excited na tumapat po siya sa Sinulog.

04:28So, maraming salamat po na magkita-kita po tayong lahat.

04:32Sana magkaroon po ko na yung chance to check out my show.

04:35I have prepared so much kahit wala pa man din.

04:39I know in my heart na magkakaroon po ako ng show.

04:41And nabigyan po ako ng pagkakataan po.

04:44No, we're so excited.

04:45Wow, ngayon pa lang, congratulations na Sof.

04:47Alam mo, bilang isa sa mga horado nang tawag na tanghalan,

04:51I just feel so proud na nasaksihan ko yung journey mo.

04:55And ngayon talagang world stage po ang kanyang laban, guys.

05:01And isa ko sa mga na-inspire,

05:04hindi lang ng talent mo, kundi ng istorya mo.

05:15Kaya maraming gustong bumate

05:17at makicelebrate sa homecoming victory party mo.

05:24Dati pa man, I've always been a huge fan of his talent, of his voice.

05:28Sobrang laking honor ang dinalan niya sa bansa natin.

05:32So, to you, brother, congratulations.

05:37Naging isa kang inspiration sa amin ngayon, sa aming mga singers.

05:41Talaga nga, God's timing is always perfect.

05:44Grabe, winning this competition is such a huge achievement.
