00:33This is the story of Mason Moron, he is an assistant professor of psychology at Nalanda University

00:40After his father's death, he became very lonely, and in his loneliness he marries a girl

00:46She is 12 years older than him

00:49In the marriage, he gets cheated, and then to avenge his wife, he pretends to be dead and disappears for 6 years

01:01So what he does in these 6 years, this is the story

01:04In the last part of the story, he goes to a mental asylum, where he meets this top notch Indian actress

01:10She is addicted to morphine

01:16Moron meets Stacey, the actress, and their love story is shown in the backdrop of the mental asylum

01:24Where there are many interesting characters and patients

01:27I stayed in these two mental asylums for 1.5 years to write this book

01:31The first was in Central Institute of Psychiatry, CIP, Ratchikaka

01:35It's a huge mental asylum, 220 acres, built in 1857

01:41The second was in IIMHH, Agra

01:44I haven't stayed in Agra mental asylum for a long time, I used to come and go there every day

01:50I used to write in the campus, but I stayed in CIP with the patients

01:54It was an interesting experience, I got to learn a lot

01:58It's a huge campus, CIP, 220 acres, built in 1857

02:04I stayed in British Age Mental Asylum and wrote this book

02:08It was a 6 year journey to write Lumsum Out of Madness

02:13When this novel came to the market, I understood that it has a huge implication

02:19Mental health and mental state is a very important topic

02:28People need to talk about it

02:40There are many people in Bollywood who are facing suicide, mental illness, loneliness

03:06I got the inspiration to write this novel from 2001-2003

03:18There were many Hollywood movies like American Beauty, American Pie, Superbad

03:27These movies were fun to watch, light hearted, entertaining

03:34People have stopped making such movies since the COVID lockdown

03:40No one is developing such a story structure

03:46I used to miss such movies, so I wanted to write a story for myself

03:51I must have watched these movies 50-60 times

03:58I was not able to watch such movies, so I decided to write a story for myself
