Maria has announced she will take a hiatus in 2025 to focus on her studies. In an interview, Sta. 00:13Clinical psychology.

00:16Why are you thinking of doing a master's?

00:18I know you're very good at what you're doing right now, but why are you thinking of doing a master's?

00:24Sometimes, I think that as a human being, I can do so much more.

00:32There's still life outside of show business.

00:39I think that, yes, I'm an actor, but I can still put on another act.

00:47Do you really want to do this professionally?

00:54Yes, it's my dream to be able to put up a small center to make mental health accessible for everyone.

01:12Of course, God said that there is no health without mental health.

01:16That's what's in my heart from the time I started studying psychology.

01:22When I did acupuncture, I got my certification there.

01:26That's what's in my heart.

01:31God willing, I hope that dream will turn into reality.

01:36Wow, I'm sure it will.

01:38Because you always end it and start again.

01:41But in clinical psychology, how does that help you as an actor?

01:45It's because you understand the motivations of your character, your intrinsic and extrinsic motivations.

01:56When you create a character, you can add depth to it.

02:03Because what's given is this.

02:06This person is in front of you, but this person has a past.

02:10What happened there for her to turn out to be this way?

02:13So you'll be able to inject more things into your character to make it deeper and have more layers.

02:25So that way, she becomes more human.

02:30Going back to your style, when did you start this?

02:35This year.

02:38How many years has it been?

02:39Two years, 27 months, including my practice.

02:45But Judy, you're really hardworking.

02:48You do a lot of things, but you're still a studious person.

02:53I think I enjoy it.

02:57For some weird reason, I enjoy the feeling of being in a class.

03:03I want to be a student who can learn new things.

03:12That sparks joy in my heart.

03:15It fascinates me.

03:17When I learn something new, I get excited.

03:23Is school stressful for you?

03:25No.

03:33It's not.
