A snow day in Nashville isn't just for the humans

Two dogs, Schatzi and Chester, along with their owner, Tony, joined AccuWeather's Ali Reid for a live report from a snow-covered Nashville on Jan. 10.

00:10Isn't this amazing?

00:12It's not just the humans in Nashville that are enjoying the snow.

00:15The dogs are enjoying it just as much here in the Music City.

00:19Tony, how are you?

00:20I'm doing well, thank you.

00:22Now who do we have? We've got Shotzi and we've got Chester with us.

00:25And they seem to love the snow.

00:27Oh, they love it.

00:30They're pretty cold-weather dogs and so they love it every time it snows.

00:35Now I asked you, you came from D.C.

00:37You weren't there for the snow a couple of days ago.

00:39I was there. You missed it.

00:41Oh, I definitely did.

00:42We were out in West Coast.

00:45But, you know, we're getting hit now.

00:47You said you've been traveling for 30 days.

00:49Over those 30 days, are you enjoying seeing the snow now here in Nashville?

00:53Yeah, you know, we missed it for the entire 30 days.

00:57This is the first time we're seeing it, really, this winter.

01:00How would you say the conditions are, not only for dog walking,

01:03but out on the sidewalks for you today, too?

01:05You know, it really hasn't been bad.

01:07So we planned on staying here two nights and we decided to extend today because

01:14To take it all out?

01:15Yeah, well, I didn't want to be on the road just in case.

01:17For safety.

01:18Yeah, it's actually not that bad.

01:20And we've been talking about that. It hasn't been too bad.

01:24Transportation and some of these other agencies have been doing a great job.

01:28Exactly, exactly.

01:34I would actually say I could have been on the road.

01:37I don't know what it's like on I-40.

01:59was able to take of what the streets of Nashville looked like earlier.

02:02Not nearly as bad as what we're seeing now.

02:04That was due in part to the snow not coming down nearly as much.

02:20That's Nashville Airport earlier today.

02:22Unfortunately, 300 cancellations, 45 delays there.

02:26Certainly, they are going to have some issues, not only through the evening,

02:29but also this morning as well.

02:37But there's snow.

02:39There's no doubt about that.

02:46My heart right now is melting despite the snow, right?

02:57She loves it so much that she just can't stop eating it.

03:04It makes her sick, but she loves it.
