00:00The Department of Agriculture is positive that the local production of rice will be able to recover this year

00:06after the Tuyot, the following typhoons, and the eruption of Volcan Canlaon in 2024.

00:12The DA targets that the production of 20 million metric tons of rice will be able to reach this year

00:18with the help of 30 billion pesos of aid for the expansion of the production of rice under the amended rice tariffication law.

00:26It is also expected that the amount of rice will be increased if the local rice is ready.

00:33Our mandate and our focus is the local production.

00:38Importation is entirely out of the government's hands.

00:43That's a business decision of our importers and traders.
