I have seen the Indian media reports about the bail given to four Indians

accused by RCMP of having collaborated in the killing of Nija. The bail has

been given by the British Columbia Supreme Court to which the RCMP had got

the case transferred to have a speedier trial. The bottom line is that

on the 11th of February the British Columbia Supreme Court will hear the

case. The question now is whether the giving of bail to these four is a big

setback for the Canadian government but it is difficult to say. In case it is

true that it is the advocates on behalf of the accused who sought the bail and

to that extent it is a victory for them but basically we have to understand that

the case will be tried in the Supreme Court of British Columbia and that the

RCMP's effort to accelerate the proceedings is succeeding. Incidentally
