00:07Indians living abroad are able to see and experience the progress and development in their own country.

00:22Not only are you proud of the achievements of your life, but you are also proud of the progress you have made abroad.

00:36And at the same time, we Indians are also proud of the success and achievements of our fellow Indians living abroad.

00:50Friends, in a globalized era, the diaspora only becomes more important with each passing year.

01:00Whether it is technology, best practices or resources, be it tourism, trade or investment, the two-way flows you enable are invaluable.

01:15As we strive to build a global workplace, this will be even more so in the times to come.

01:25The very people-centric changes we promote in India also benefit the diaspora.

01:33This could be enhancing the ease of doing business, promoting ease of living or facilitating connectivity and travel.

01:44The application of digital technologies to ensure diaspora welfare is also apparent.

01:53In the last decade, we have seen the simplification of passport issues and renewal as well as ease of attestations.

02:06Consular services, all of you have seen, have improved, welfare measures have increased,

02:13grievance platforms are effective and embassies and consulates across the world are more responsive.

02:21And most important, in times of difficulties, you can be confident that the Modi Sarkar has your back.

02:35Friends, the hosting of this PBD in Odisha is reflective of the Modi Sarkar's Purva Daya policy.

02:45In so many ways, Odisha represents the full richness of our history and culture.

02:53Be it darshan of Mahaprabhu Jagannathji or Lingraj Bhagwan,

03:00or visiting Konark temple, experiencing cultural festivals, folk arts, state products and cuisine,

03:09many of you have actually had direct experiences of this during this visit.

03:16But as Foreign Minister, I also want to highlight the external impact of Odisha.

03:24The famous Bali Yatra is actually a precursor of what is today the Government of India's Act East policy.

03:34When we define ourselves as an Indo-Pacific nation, we do so from the eastern seaboard of Odisha.

03:44This gathering should inspire you all to nurture more strongly our heritage, traditions and identity.

03:54Friends, we are all assembled at a time when the world may look more uncertain, perhaps even more volatile.

04:04However, the message that you will take away from this occasion is of a Bharat that is more confident,

04:12modernizing and inclusive, where tradition and technology go hand in hand,

04:20where the journey towards Vixit Bharat is ongoing.

04:24And each one of you, in your own way, can make a difference to the realization of that goal.
