South Africa's coastguard service is searching for poachers diving for abalones. In the Far East, the shellfish are thought to increase male virility and can cost 100 Euros or more on the black market. The raids are organised professionally. While divers collect the shellfish from the sea bed,a lookout sits on the water's edge and warns of approaching police. It's a lucrative sideline for the fishermen, but it could soon mean extinction for the abalones of not stopped.
