00:48I hope with this recovery, a major recovery which has been because in international market

00:54the price of this narcotics is around 30 to 32 crores.

00:59So the kind of drugs that are being smuggled from Pakistan is a concern

01:03and as you know that police, not only Sarnagar Police but J&K Police as a whole

01:08is at the forefront of curbing this menace and we are quite hopeful and quite resolute

01:12and we have absolutely no doubt in it that we will be able to work on this problem

01:17and anyone who has any such doubt that the long arm of law won't catch him up

01:22should not remain in that doubt.

01:24We would 100% ensure that everyone, wherever he is, in whichever corner of the world he is

01:30whosoever is peddling drugs or narcotics to our society will face the wrath of the law

01:45Yesterday what happened, we had already arrested a drug peddler

01:49and somebody claiming to be a government officer and telling that he has some influence in the police

01:53and that he would secure his release.

01:55But the moment we got to know because the person that we had booked under PIT and DPSA

02:00he is in Kotwal Jail probably or Badarwa Jail.

02:03So his wife, somebody approached his wife that we will secure the release of your husband.

02:08Then it was not so because we are 100% committed that there is absolutely no tolerance for such kind of nonsense.

02:14No one from the police would do such an act.

02:17And the person was arrested and action has been taken against him.

03:28Srinagar Police as a major crackdown

03:31at a routine police checkpoint in Barthana Kamarwari yesterday

03:37arrested 8 kg of heroin.

03:39Two people were coming in a Tata Sumo.

03:42They are from Karna Kupwara.

03:44One of them is Anas Aijaz Awan

03:46and the other is Zahid Ahmed Sheikh.

03:49They were sitting in this car.

03:52During the check-in, when the police were checking this car, Sumo

03:566 kg of heroin was hidden under the driver's seat.

04:00It was arrested on the spot.

04:02After that, these two people were searched.

04:06And during the personal search, 2 kg more heroin was retrieved from each person.

04:14After this, in the jurisdiction of Police Station Parimpura,

04:19an FIR was registered.

04:21The FIR number is 3 Oblique 2025

04:24under Section 8 by 21 and 29 of NDPSA Act

04:29Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

04:34And the investigation is going on in this matter.

04:37During the personal search, we found out

04:40that these drugs came from Pakistan

04:42and there is a network of drug trafficking

04:45which was involved from Pakistan to here.

04:48So, this has been identified.

04:51And I want to assure all the people here

04:55that J&K Police is 100% committed and resolute.
