Denmark's Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said on Tuesday January 7, that only people of Greenland can determine the island's future after Donald Trump Jr. arrived in Greenland's capital Nuuk for a private visit.
Donald Trump had attempted to purchase the island in 2019 which Frederiksen had described as “absurd,” while acknowledging Greenland’s growing independence as “legitimate.”
On Tuesday Donald Trump declined to rule out military or economic action as part of his desire to have the U.S. take back control of the Panama Canal and acquire the Danish territory of Greenland.
