When will the government take action against social media platforms that don't register?
00:30
I ask MCMC to speed up the process, but give us some time.
00:38
For YouTube, they still deny that they are social media,
00:46
even though there is a sub-application in the platform called YouTube Shorts.
00:56
In terms of UX, user experience, it is similar to TikTok,
01:04
with elements of sharing and commenting.
01:09
We see that there is a social media aspect.
01:16
That is why I ask MCMC to continue the discussion,
01:23
and give us some time.
01:25
For example, if YouTube can explain how many users use the Shorts application,
01:34
and whether they want to turn Shorts into a different application in a short period of time.
01:44
There is a technical aspect, but there is also a planning aspect for the platforms,
01:53
including Google and YouTube in particular.
01:57
So, please give us some time.
01:59
At the same time, if there are any content that violates the law,
02:08
I see that platforms can still be contacted to take action.
02:15
Can you share which social media platforms have applied for the licensing?
02:21
I have mentioned this before.
02:26
But as of today, as of yesterday afternoon,
02:30
WeChat has received the licensing,
02:34
TikTok and also Telegram.
02:37
Meta, as of yesterday, they have sent several documents
02:44
to make a review of several things that have been raised by MCMC.
02:53
And I expect that the process will go smoothly.
02:59
So, as of now, three have received the licensing,
03:05
which are WeChat, TikTok and Telegram.
03:11
Meta is coming soon. Very, very soon.
03:14
Another two are Google, which is trying to get YouTube,
03:19
and X is still in discussion with MCMC.
03:22
There are reporters asking about the LinkedIn platform.
03:26
So, I have asked MCMC to investigate.
03:30
There is also LinkedIn, which has more than 8 million users in Malaysia.
03:35
And if they need, if they are also described as social media,
03:41
then maybe we will contact LinkedIn later.
