A fast-moving wildfire dubbed the Eaton Fire broke out some 30 miles (50 km) inland in the foothills above Pasadena in California on Tuesday (Jan 7), wiping homes off an entire street.

00:08in the foothills above Pasadena in California on Tuesday, wiping homes off an entire street.
00:15An eyewitness on the scene filmed firefighters battling raging flames from the Eaton Fire,
00:21where homes were burnt to their bare skeletal structures.
00:26Large parts of the area were flattened with debris still burning.
00:30The Eaton Fire was the second blaze to hit California after a first rapidly growing wildfire
00:36raged across Pacific Palisades area between the coastal settlements of Santa Monica and
00:41Malibu on Tuesday, which officials said had burned at least 2,921 acres of land.
00:48The Eaton Fire quickly exploded and has since grown to 1,000 acres so far.
