00:00I guess the rest of the pack is maybe catching up with the Aussies after some of their recent

00:04success and obviously the T20 World Cup didn't really go to plan for either of these two

00:08teams but especially seeing how Australia went, does that give you a bit of confidence

00:11as well?

00:12Feeling like, okay, the rest of the world and particularly us, we can catch up with

00:16this team?

00:17I'm not sure confidence is the word.

00:19I think it's added motivation to keep pushing forward and making sure that we're getting

00:24the best out of our talent pool and ourselves and trying to just keep increasing our skill

00:29level because you know nowadays you can't rest on your laurels against any team in the

00:34world.

00:35As you saw, we failed to defeat against the West Indies, South Africa came through, New

00:40Zealand actually won the tournament so I think it's just a case of extra motivation to keep

00:45improving and keep the standard of women's cricket just going through the roof to be

00:49honest.

00:50You scored a double time at Trent Bridge but that was a five-day test and it's not

00:53particularly good for the way you scored but has it changed your mindset at all planning

00:57wise when you know you've got one more day to try and achieve a result in the test match

01:01and I guess by the time we get to that point there may be one team that's happy for sure

01:04and one team that's not but yeah, does it give you a mindset there?

01:07Yeah, I think this test match is going to be a really unique challenge actually.

01:11Obviously from ball one, one team knows going in with a draw is probably enough and the

01:14other team's got to do everything to push for a victory and I think that could create

01:19a really interesting narrative.

01:20I think the key with test match cricket from what I've found and I haven't played much

01:24but I've only played in one victory so I think getting 20 wickets is the key actually.

01:29I think nowadays the way we play with our batting we'll score kind of quick enough but

01:34actually it's how are you going to maybe create 20 opportunities to take wickets and that's

01:40the key to winning test match cricket.

01:42I think the hard thing is knowing you've got to push for those wickets but actually not

01:46trying too hard and then just allowing the game to go away.

01:50But yeah, I think it'll be interesting but I don't think the scoring rates will be an

01:54issue or anything like they were in 2017.

01:57Ash made the point before we heard about how she'd love to see 3-3-3 and have three test

02:01matches.

02:02Is that something you'd like to see?

02:05Oh yeah, absolutely.

02:06I completely agree with Ash.

02:07I think I'd love to see 3-3-3.

02:10I think the best thing about the Ashes is the narrative, the rivalry, how it builds over

02:15time.

02:16Actually, you saw in the Indy Australia men's test series that the narratives build in a

02:21five-match series and even in a three-match series the kind of things with Boomer always

02:26getting the same people out or things like that.

02:29As an opening batter, that's part of why you love the game is that battle of trying to

02:33maybe get one up on an opening bowler and I think it builds even more in test cricket

02:37and that's why I love getting the whites on and I'd love to see more of it.

02:41If you can win this series, what would it mean to this team?

02:44I think it would be absolutely massive.

02:46I think we've been there or thereabouts for quite a few years in World Cups and in Ashes

02:51but we haven't actually got our hands on anything for a little while now so it's certainly

02:55something we've got our hopes on and something I think that a few of us are still around

03:01from 2017 World Cup but actually could be a massive highlight.

03:05I think particularly coming to Australia and trying to take on the Aussies is one of the

03:09hardest things you can do in men's or women's cricket.

03:12So yeah, if we could come out on top I think it would be a career highlight for a lot of the squad.

03:17Tammy, with the double-decker bus behind you and a bit of light rain, is England feeling quite at home?

03:23Well actually, I was saying, I've had more games rained off in Sydney in my career than

03:27most of the time in England so yeah, I am feeling pretty at home to be honest.

03:30It's great to see that you're making us feel welcome.

03:33Apparently there's some black cabs around the corner as well.

03:36But no, I think hopefully the weather will change and we'll get a lot of cricket in.

03:41But yeah, I think a lot of us have played a lot in Australia now and absolutely love touring here.

03:45It's a great country to come to and we all love our coffee.

03:48So feeling right at home and feeling very welcome. Thank you.

03:52Tammy, does England have its plans in place for Annabelle Sutherland?

03:55She seems to be unstoppable at the moment.

03:57Yeah, I've been lucky enough to play with Souther when she was at the Welsh Fire with us.

04:01Yeah, she's a real talent and obviously in red-hot form.

04:04But I think for us, well firstly I'm not a bowler so I don't get allowed in the bowling meetings.

04:08So you'll have to ask Lauren another time.

04:11But we'll certainly have plans. We have plans for everyone.

04:13We know they've got match finish the whole way down the order.

04:17So we're going to have to have plans.

04:18But more importantly, we're going to have to execute and adapt to conditions.

04:21And yeah, we know that the batters are going to just keep coming at us.

04:25But yeah, we're certainly ready to have a good go.
