00:19In Purya Dhanashri, my ancestors, Maharaja Swati Tirunel, did both Karnataka and Hindustani.

00:28It was written 250 years ago, in Sanskrit.

00:35But normally a program is 3 hours long, here I got only 50 minutes.

00:41So in those 50 minutes, I showed small examples and finished it.

00:46I never thought that if I sing extra, the next artist will be late.

00:51So I used the time given and stopped it.

00:58In modern times, how do you see Shastriya Gaya?

01:02Many new artists come, but now there is Instagram, Facebook, YouTube,

01:08so you get a chance to become famous through social media.

01:12Small kids go shopping, wear new clothes, they all post on Instagram.

01:19If they are beautiful to look at, they do this in slow motion.

01:25I am from an old generation.

01:273 hours is 3 hours of singing.

01:30You can do other things, but the main thing is singing.

01:35If I sing well, I can sing for 4 hours.

01:40I do sadhana daily, that is number one.

01:43After that, makeup, packaging, marketing, branding, all that is different.

01:49But in modern times, that is ahead.

01:52What is inside, more than that is the packaging outside.

01:58In time, we will know.

02:39We sing and play in Saptak.

02:41But when we come to Saptak and sing and play, it is a different experience.

02:46Today, in the morning session, I accompanied Padma Bhushan Pandit Sajan Mishra.

02:52It was a very good experience.

02:55Because you know the audience of Saptak.

02:58It is a very mature audience.

03:01It is called the Prabuddha audience, who understands music.

03:06And the Saptak musicians of Ahemdabad, who have prepared Saptak for so many years,

04:48And it has been my journey that I have been a student.
