Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have finally closed the book on their divorce after taking more than 8 years to hash things out ... TMZ has learned.

00:00Eight years later, today, guess what divorce has been settled?

00:04Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have settled their divorce after eight acrimonious,

00:11sometimes vicious years of arguing, trashing, all sorts of things.

00:18So it is finally over.

00:21We know that initially there was a lot involving child custody, but

00:26the reality is Brad's estranged from these six kids now.

00:29I mean, he's just estranged, and he believes, we know this,

00:34that one of the reasons the kids won't have anything to do with him,

00:38he thinks Angelina Jolie has been trashing him for years.

00:42She has denied it, and she says she's never done it, but

00:46this has been just a brutal, brutal divorce that has taken its toll on both of them.

00:52Eight years is longer than my longest relationship with a man.

00:57That's unbelievable to me,

00:58that you could argue with someone for eight years about anything.

01:02And there's a thing that we used to talk about in people's court,

01:07where two people get divorced and then they start suing each other and

01:10fighting, that you're not really divorced unless you're divorced in your head.

01:14And they're still fighting over this winery where they each had a half share,

01:19and she sold hers, and he said you should have sold it to me instead.

01:23So I'm not sure in their heads,

01:27even if somebody signs a paper, that they're divorced.

01:31Yeah, maybe they'll hate each other forever, I don't know.

01:33I mean, it took 35 years for my parents to start talking, so we'll see.

01:48And in the documents, Angelina signed off on not having a spousal or

01:53family support, but another thing in Brad's life,

01:57he does have some positivity going on.

02:03So a lot of people think like, wow,

02:05maybe they're trying to start off the new year.

02:07Brad's trying to start off the new year, going forward with his relationship and

02:12maybe furthering it to be an engagement or a marriage.

03:07that she didn't need him before and she doesn't need him now.

03:12I wish her and her children nothing but tranquility and healing

03:16moving forward from here.

03:17Just so you know, though, child support is not something that you

03:22automatically get if you have the means.

03:25It's based on need as well.

03:28And who knows if she didn't, maybe she asked for it and she just didn't get it.
