00:00Department of Finance or DOF Secretary Ralph Rector proposed to increase

00:04FEAL's benefit packages for the 10 most common illnesses to better utilize its funds.

00:09According to the information gathered by the Philippine News Agency,

00:12the DOF chief suggested raising the benefit packages by 100 percent or even 200 percent.

00:18This came after the 2025 General Appropriations Act was signed,

00:22which did not allocate additional funds for FEAL Health.

00:25Secretary Rector noted the state's health insurer has 280 billion pesos in reserve funds

00:31plus a surplus of 150 billion pesos. The DOF will monitor FEAL's spending

00:36to ensure funds are used effectively.
