So thank you, that's all I can say, thank you.
00:07
Finally, Paul, what is your key message to the supporters?
00:13
Get off our back.
00:16
No, you can just look around today.
00:20
My name's John Burrows and I was a full-time official in the Derbyshire area coalfield.
00:25
This is an exhibition in Poole's Brook Miners' Welfare.
00:28
It's an exhibition of the 40th anniversary of the year-long miners' strike in the country and particularly in Derbyshire.
00:36
It's an event that everybody should come and have a look at.
00:39
There's an opportunity to begin to understand at least a little bit of what life during the strike was like.
00:45
I was born in Dortmund.
00:46
Tell me a bit about who you are and why we're here today.
00:48
Yes, so my name's John Keane-Thomlinson. I'm a custom games exec at Winning Moves.
00:53
We're here today because we're announcing the Peak District edition of Monopoly.
00:56
So we know that Bakewell's obviously one of the big central hubs in the Peak District.
01:00
So we thought we'd come along today.
01:02
We also heard that National Bakewell Pudding Day is next week as well.
01:05
So yeah, lots of tourists out today, lots of people to spread the word.
01:09
A huge thank you to you, first off, for being willing to share in this day with everybody.
01:14
A huge thank you to the Lord Lieutenant for her willingness to be able to come and represent today
01:20
and to support us in this very important event.
01:24
And also to the Masonic Order, to everybody who have made this possible.
01:28
But most importantly, to Denise, who has been absolutely the driving force in ensuring that today has happened.
01:36
It is absolutely vital that we remember the service of everybody who is a veteran in our country.
01:43
I'm Councillor Mick Bakeshaw. I'm leader at Staveley Matters on Stavestown Council.
01:48
We started this six months ago, and to see it in full tradition today, it's a great honour.
01:55
And also to have Richard here representing his family and what have you.
02:01
It is a good thing for Richard's family, as well as community safety,
02:09
because now everybody will know this route, as Grace has spoken about.
02:15
What's this last year been like for you?
02:17
Mental.
02:18
That's it?
02:19
Yeah.
02:20
It's not real.
02:21
Yeah, it's been mental.
02:22
Really?
02:23
It's been a year, hasn't it? And we did sit quietly the other day and thought, what was that?
02:29
Then you, oh, we did this.
02:30
Yeah.
02:31
And then we went there and, oh, what about that?
02:33
Yeah.
02:34
We did this.
02:35
What's been the high spot for you both?
02:37
I think it sounds corny, but for me it's just having a boyfriend.
02:41
What about you, Roger?
02:43
Having a girlfriend.
02:44
Oh, yeah, he's taken my lines.
02:48
I'm delighted to be here at Cavendish Junior School today to celebrate Mr Turner, the caretaker,
02:53
winning a silver award for the Pearson National Teaching Award in the category of Unsung Hero.
03:00
Mr Turner is so deserving of this award.
03:03
From a school point of view, the second I walked in this building, it has Mr Turner written all over it.
03:09
He is the absolute definition of hero.
03:12
And as a school, we want to sing and shout about it as much as possible.
03:16
The school, I said to the staff this morning, the school really is a magical, special place to learn, to work.
03:22
And a lot of that is down to Lee.
03:24
And everything that is about to come his way is thoroughly well.
03:27
Don't worry about that.
03:28
But obviously, it is an election that's all about change.
03:31
The opportunity is to vote to continue with what we've got.
03:35
In my view, that's not been very good.
03:38
Or we can vote to change that and have a different government come in and start cleaning up the mess and taking our country forward.
03:46
But it is a vote all about change.
03:49
It is very much a change election.
03:51
And the only thing I'd say about that is if you do want change,
03:54
we've been campaigning now for weeks and weeks and weeks across the country.
03:58
Hello, my name is Alex Horner.
04:00
I'm 20 years old from Tibshelf and I perform as a Young Elvis tribute artist.
04:05
And I'm going to be the next Elvis in Derbyshire and the best and in the world.
04:10
How long have you been doing this for?
04:12
About six months now.
04:14
I've been doing it around six months.
04:16
Have you played many places?
04:18
Well, I've played from here in Derbyshire, of course.
04:22
And I've been down to Western Supermare.
04:25
We're looking at going to Skegness, Blackpool.
04:28
Getting all the way around Derbyshire though.
04:30
Love Derbyshire, can't beat it.
04:50
Madeline Wadam, musical director.
04:54
You have been seated.
04:56
Mr Palmerhurst, musical director.
05:00
And of course, our incredible musical director of the classic, Gina Broadbent.
05:06
So, what we are going to do now to start the day is we are going to head outside shortly
05:11
and get our famous group shot, our press shot.
05:13
We've got the Derbyshire Times here with us this morning.
05:15
So we're going to try and get that done as swiftly as possible.
05:19
And then we're going to come back in and get the day started.
05:24
Welcome everybody to the light switch on here at Chesterfield.
05:28
All come and see us in Cinderella at the Winding Wheel.
05:32
It starts on the 29th of November.
05:34
And it carries on until the 31st of December.
05:37
Come and see us.
05:39
We know you want to.
05:40
You'll love us, you'll see us.
05:43
Yes, you know what, we were here ten years ago.
05:45
Did anyone see us?
05:48
Who's coming to see us?
05:51
That's everyone.
