00:00I don't believe the Bears are the right fit because the Bears, I know, are looking for

00:04someone to get the most out of Caleb Williams. And even though they haven't closed the door

00:07on a defensive coach, a defensive coach mid-70s, that's not the way to get the most out of a

00:13quarterback that you want to develop into a franchise quarterback for the next 10 to 15

00:17years. They need an offensive coach. That's going to be the key. That's the decision I think they're

00:22going to come to. So I can understand why I'd be interested in the Bears job. That apparently was

00:27one of the jobs that Bill Belichick was eyeing. But they're going to be looking for an offensive

00:31guy, I firmly believe, a guy a lot younger and a guy that they can join to the hip with Caleb

00:36Williams like Sean Payton and Drew Brees once were. So I think it's good he wants back in. I

00:41hope he gets some interviews this year. Maybe there is a perfect fit out there. I just don't

00:45think it's Chicago. And the idea that Pete Carroll wants back into the league is one thing to your

00:53point. But the situation with the Bears and how enticing Caleb makes this job then, how should

01:00we anticipate the Bears job will be viewed? How it will rank in the scope of various jobs that

01:05either are currently or will eventually become open? Well, most jobs come open because the team

01:12isn't very good. The Bears job came open because the team was expected to be a lot better than it's

01:18been. And that contributed to the decision to move on from Matt Iberflug. So for most of the

01:24jobs that likely will come open this year, you're not going to have a young franchise quarterback.

01:28Now, that's going to be highly attractive to the candidates who had high regard for Caleb Williams

01:34going into the draft and whose opinions about Caleb Williams have only been reinforced by some

01:40of what we've seen this year. And it's hard to get a full read on what he's going to be.

01:44But he's been arguably the best thing the Bears have had this year. And there is enough there to

01:49feel confident that with the right coaching, with the right help around him, he could become

01:55a franchise quarterback.
