00:00Yesterday, Christmas Eve, was the trailer or preview with drizzles and light showers

00:05in the late afternoon and well into the night.

00:08Today was the full-length feature with sustained rain showers since this morning amid brief

00:14and few gaps in between.

00:16And this is likely to extend to the north of the mainland through this week up to New

00:20Year's Day as our Rod Laguzad reports.

00:26The whole day, it was a rainy Christmas day.

00:28Continuous rainfall was experienced here in Metro Manila.

00:32According to Pagasa, it's also the same situation in Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Eastern Visayas

00:38and some parts of Mimaropa.

00:40This is still due to the shearline, the convergence of the cold northeast monsoon or Amihan, and

00:45the warm easterlies.

00:46When they meet, rainfall or isolated cases of thunderstorms occur.

00:50And this usually happens during the season of Amihan which usually falls in December

00:54up to February the next year.

00:56Bicol was unfortunately and yet again hit by the sustained precipitation or continued

01:01rainfall and widespread flooding.

01:03First, by the confluence of the shearline and the southwest monsoon in the third quarter

01:07up to October this year.

01:09And now by the marriage of the shearline and the cold winds of Amihan as the country turns

01:13the page to a new year.

01:14While other parts of the Visayas and Mindanao are up for generally better weather conditions.

01:42Still it is possible or even probable rain could fall on Northern Luzon in the next days.

02:02Because of this, there is a high chance the Northern Luzon will experience rain during

02:05the new year.

02:17This is because Pagasa has a five-day weather outlook.
