00:04I thought of you with Lozardo heading over to Philadelphia.

00:18Wheeler now, Aaron Nola, Ranger Suarez, now Lozardo.

00:22I like it for the Phillies, but what was this situation here with the Marlins and what did

00:28they get back in return for?

00:30Yeah, well, Joe, look, at this point, we know where the Marlins are headed.

00:34It's probably more of a rebuild-type season.

00:37Lozardo's under team control for two more years, will get paid in arbitration $6 million,

00:42$7 million this year.

00:43I think, Joe, most people who watch Lozardo think that there's a very high ceiling for

00:47him, meaning if you look at his season two years ago, where he started 30 games and he

00:52pitched for the Marlins in their first postseason game, that's the kind of guy that he can be,

00:56and I think the Phillies are hoping for that.

00:59But there's no guarantee of that.

01:00This is a pitcher that's had a lot of injury issues also over the last few years and did

01:04not have a good year last year when he was healthy.

01:07So my guess is what the Marlins are doing right now is not necessarily, I don't think,

01:12selling low, but sort of taking a preemptive measure here with some worry, maybe, that

01:17if he doesn't have a good season or if he's hurt again, they would get nothing for him.

01:21I don't think that this is a case of something is better than nothing.

01:24I really do like one of the players, Kaba, the infielder, that they got back in return

01:28far away from the major leagues.

01:30So a little bit surprising, I think, but with Lozardo's injury history, I think Phillies

01:35are in an all-in mode, and they felt like the player that they gave up, especially in

01:39this deal, is blocked by other players in the organization as well.
