00:00it starts tonight. Notre Dame and Indiana. I think I told you last week it's the first

00:11time they're playing since 1991. I think before that they hadn't played since what the forties

00:19or something like that. So not a lot of recent history between these two teams in the state

00:25of Indiana. Let's start with Kurt Cignetti who has won every possible coach of the year award

00:31that there is in the country when it comes to college football gets Indiana into the college

00:37football playoff. It's gonna be cold. It's gonna be snowy. Kurt Cignetti didn't care about any of

00:44that. I hope it snows a foot and a half. We have a Canadian quarterback. Did you see him throw the

00:50ball against Purdue? I mean this guy grew up like in the frigid north. He looked pretty good to me

00:59that night. So I don't think it's gonna bother him very much and so much revolves around that guy,

01:04right? Everybody else will find a way to stay warm but it's not a concern. You know it's gonna be

01:12cold. It's gonna be windy. There could be snow on the ground. Both teams have to play on it.

01:18We've been practicing outside in the cold for a long time and we played in it against Purdue. When

01:26we started the game you know there was snow on the turf. It was cold. It was windy. So we've been

01:30through it. Yeah this has no bearing on this football game tonight. I don't believe for one

01:35minute. Now I went to IU. So it was it's freezing there in the winter. It's you know Indiana's

01:42freezing cold in the winter that from north to south the entire state is cold. So I know this is

01:48about the let's face facts. I think Rich summed it up best. Whenever Indiana went up against a good

01:55defense they did nothing. They kicked everyone else's ass. Everyone that didn't have a defense

02:02Indiana put 47 on them. Indiana has a great rushing defense. They allow 71 yards a game. They

02:07got a great offense great defense. But when they play great defenses which Ohio State and Michigan

02:14both have and so does Notre Dame. Notre Dame's defense is better than Michigan's and Ohio State's.

02:22So that's where Indiana is gonna have problems tonight is playing Notre Dame's defense. That's

02:26why they're gonna lose. Yeah and I'll put this to bed as well because everybody keeps talking about

02:32all the snow and all this. And yes there's been pictures of it's snowing in South Bend. The snow

02:37has moved out. I just saw Notre Dame football X account tweet out. They just tweeted out a picture.

02:44There's not a stitch of snow on the field. It's been covered. They just took the cover off. It's

02:49not snowing right now. The field is in great shape for this game tonight. There's not an ounce of

02:55snow on it. So they'll be just fine. Here is Marcus Freeman. The way he looks at it Scotty. The Irish

03:00have been playing playoff games since they lost to Northern Illinois all the way back in September.

03:05They knew there was no margin for error after a loss like that. Here is Freeman. Something I've been preaching to the

03:10guys and something that I reiterated this last week was that we've been in playoff situational

03:16games since week three. And we understand that. And every game that we play in is a version of a

03:25playoff game in our minds. And so continue to understand that don't have any added pressure

03:30for this one that you haven't had the previous 10. And so our guys understand that that's going

03:37to be the message that I continue to reiterate. And let's just focus on the way we're preparing

03:42more than anything. Listen for me you know I thought Indiana handled the game in Columbus

03:48poorly. I thought they handled the Michigan game well under extreme you know different circumstances.

03:56They hadn't been in a low scoring defensive battle the entire season Mike. And they still

04:02found a way to win that game against Michigan. And Michigan could have won that game. They had

04:06every chance in the world to beat Indiana and Bloomington. And Indiana got it done.

04:10My problem with them is is that this team they're playing I think is better than both of those teams.

04:18And they're playing in Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend. It's raucous. They've been drinking all day.

04:24And they didn't perform well in big games. They played every game they played they kicked ass

04:33and took names. But when the games got elevated to the next level the game you know do you remember

04:39how excited we were for the game in Columbus on that Saturday at the shoe with Indiana playing

04:43Ohio State was the worst game of the year. It was a terrible game with all their mistakes and

04:47turnovers and block punts. What I want tonight more than anything else is this to be a great game.

04:53I just want it to be a great game. I don't care if Indiana loses. I want them to represent to do

04:58well to be in the game. I would love to see them you know if they're going to lose lose by a field

05:04goal. Let's say a last second. I'd love to at least see them give Notre Dame a problem. I don't want

05:09to see 38 15. I think it could be a 10 point Notre Dame win. But I'd rather see a three point game

05:16or a two point game or an overtime game. I want this playoff to start off with a bang with this

05:22game tonight in South Bend to be kick ass. I want to see a kick ass nail biter game to start the

05:30college football playoff. I'm okay if Indiana loses. I've never seen Indiana go 11 and one

05:35let alone 11 and two in my life. So I'm already happy with Indiana football. They've already

05:40satisfied me. If they somehow miraculously upset Notre Dame I will keel over. Well we have been

05:48looking at this one for a couple weeks now and it's been mostly seven seven and a half has been

05:53the number did not change today. Dipped under seven six and a half now for the Irish total.

06:01I've actually got down a couple points from our board there. I'm down to 50 and a half as we are

06:06now a couple hours closer to kickoff. So 50 and a half total and six and a half for the side.

06:13You know everyone thinks it's so cold and so miserable and all the snow that isn't there.

06:19It's out in the parking lot and on trees. How about we we go rogue and go over and that they

06:26both light it up tonight because everyone thought it was going to be an under because of the snow.

06:31I'm going to say it's back to normal for Indiana and Notre Dame. They both score a lot of points

06:35and I think Notre Dame covers. So I want Indiana to win. I want them to cover but I think Notre Dame will.
