00:23What are your thoughts and what do you think the future holds for Guardiola and the citizens?

00:28I mean, after watching the Manchester City vs. Manchester United game, I told my son

00:31on the 82nd minute, do you think Manchester City is going to pull it off and they're finally

00:35going to win the game?

00:36He said, of course, there's only eight minutes left.

00:38I'm like, no, man, they don't want Pep in the team anymore.

00:41And boom, Manchester United won it 2-1.

00:44Nobody can believe this, only if you watch the game.

00:49I honestly think that they don't want Pep Guardiola no longer.

01:12But look, in my lifetime, I'll go on camera saying perhaps one of the greatest football

01:17minds as a coach that I've seen, at least.

01:20And if there's one person who can turn it around, I'm just trying to play devil's advocate,

01:25I think it's going to be him.

01:27And I wouldn't be surprised if they turn things around here under Pep, but that's if he stays

01:31around.

01:32Well, let's turn the ship, first of all.

01:33So if we go from City to United, this is a team, then again, that was coached for so

01:37many years.

01:38After Sir Alex Ferguson coached Scotland in Mexico in 1986, he went to a team that needed

01:43a boost.

01:44He gave them quite a boost.

01:45His farewell season back in 2013 meant the last title in the premiership for Manchester

01:50United.

01:51Ten coaches between interims, full-time coaches and caretakers.

02:07Do you think he can be the guy that can turn the ship around?

02:09I am convinced that the Ruben Amorim era is going to be the one that brings Manchester

02:13United to the luster that they belong to.

02:16The most telling sign that this was the right project is the fact that he decided to sit

02:21down with two players that for the last three seasons were completely untouchable, regardless

02:27of their level of play, which is Garnacho and Ruffo.

02:30And the fact that you see this coach coming in and saying, no, everyone in this team is

02:34going to have to earn their spot in the starting 11 by their daily work, their attitudes, how

02:40they wear the uniform, what they eat at the clubhouse, how they greet workers at the clubhouse.

02:46So I feel like these are the differences that make these institutions what they are.

02:51Is the culture within the club, is the love of the crest and how you conduct yourself

02:57as a player of these institutions, always chasing excellence.

03:00So I feel like in the field we are yet to see the results of the product and that's

03:06a high quest for Amorim.

03:09But we do see that the foundations of what he's doing in Manchester United is going to

03:13pay off because the players are going to, unlike Manchester City, are going to start

03:17growing in their pride and their trust of the coach versus a team that is maybe not

03:21so sure of what their coach is trying to put together.

03:23I think Nick brought up a great point when he talked about the LA Galaxy.

03:27This is a team that dominated the 2010s in Major League Soccer, so around the same time

03:31that Manchester United won their last title, 2013 versus 2015.

03:35In your opinion, is this a resemblance?

03:39Probably if we compare what Galaxy has done to go back.

03:42What do you think Manchester United would have to do to come back to this elite level

03:46that they're used to?

03:47Look, I think this might just be sort of, to get away from the Galaxy analogy, because

03:52as I mentioned in the beginning, that was a 10 year long drought, let's say, right?

03:56A spell, a dry spell.

03:58I don't think we're going to see the kind of same situation with either Manchester team.

04:02Look, first of all, both teams are struggling a lot with injury and that's obviously going

04:07to affect them very negatively too.

04:08And so that's a big part of it as well.

04:09If we want to zoom out and make this into a much bigger picture, we could make a much

04:14bigger problem, rather, we could, but I just don't see it playing out in the same way.
