She’s been spreading festive cheer to anyone visiting Tenby’s historic market hall this Christmas - and singer Lowri Wyn Smith - hailed by traders as the seaside town’s finest songstress - will continue with the tunes this weekend in the lead up to the big day.
Pembrokeshire County Council who run the facility, had invited choirs interested in performing at the historic market on High Street in the lead up to Christmas to get in touch - to add some ‘seasonal spirit and vibrancy’ throughout December - but Lowri has stepped-up with her solo singing.
As well as delighting shoppers and passers-by in Tenby, Lowri who has been running her pop-up ‘Lowri’s Shop’ at the Market Hall over the winter period, also treated New Hedges WI members to a few festive tunes at their Christmas dinner this month.
One trader at the market said: “We absolutely loved the first performance and are excited to hear and see her again. Keep your ears at the ready and expect to hear her wonderful tunes again.”
On another performance where Lowri was joined by Greenhill School pupils, another trader remarked: “I was stunned by her voice - perfect pitch without any mic or background accompaniment. The best singer l have heard since Susan Boyle!”
Lowri and her husband Mark, are also behind the design of the new Tenby Boxing Day Swim medals that entrants to the annual charity event will receive after coming out of the sea on December 26.
The medal is two-sided and features original artwork.
“We're excited and proud to be the medals sponsor, as well as designing and making them,” said Lowri and Mark.
“The medals can be kept as they are or turned into keyrings - rings will be available for a 50p donation with all proceeds going to Tenby RNLI.”
Keep an eye out for Lowri performing once again at the market this weekend...

00:00Here we are as in olden days, happy golden days of yore.
00:21Faithful friends who are dear to us shall be near to us once more.
00:35Through the years we all will be together if the fates allow.
00:49Hang a shining star upon the highest bough.
01:01Where the treetops glisten and children listen to hear sleigh bells in the snow.
01:23I'm dreaming of a white Christmas with every Christmas card I write.
01:41May your days be merry and bright and may all your Christmases be white.
02:02You will get a sentimental feeling when you hear voices singing let's be jolly.
02:12Deck the halls with boughs of harmony rocking around the Christmas tree.
02:19Have a happy holiday.
02:22Everyone's dancing merrily in a new old-fashioned way.
02:28On a bright time, it's the right time to rock the night away.
02:36In the bed of time, it's a swell time to go riding in a one-horse sleigh.
02:44Santa baby, a fifty-four convertible too, light blue.
02:52I'll wait up for you, dear Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight.
03:07Think of all the fun I've made.
03:12Think of all the fellas that I haven't kissed.
03:18Next year, I could be just as good if you'd check out my Christmas.
03:26My snowman and me.
03:33My snowman and me.
03:39Baby.
03:46Don't cry, snowman, don't you fear the sun.
03:50Who will carry me without legs to run, honey?
03:55Without legs to run, honey?
03:59Don't cry, snowman, don't you shed a tear.
04:04Who will hear my secrets if you don't have ears, baby?
04:09If you don't have ears, baby?
04:14I want you to know that I'm never leaving, cause I'm Mrs. Snow.
04:19Till death we'll be freezing with you on my home.
04:23Home for all seasons, so come on, let's go.
04:28In the meadow, we can build a snowman.
04:32And pretend that he is Hudson Brown.
04:36He'll say, are you married?
04:38We'll say, no, man.
04:40But you can do the job while you're in town.
04:44Later on, we'll conspire.
04:48As we dream by the fire.
04:53To face, unafraid, the plans that we've made.
04:57Walking in a winter wonderland.
05:05I need to tap.
05:22Sleigh bells ring, are you listening?
05:26In the lane, the snow is glistening.
05:30Beautiful sight, we're happy tonight.
05:34Walking in a winter wonderland.
05:38Walking in a winter wonderland.
05:42Walking in a winter.
05:46Walking in a winter wonderland.
