00:03It's V101's Christmas Choir Competition.

00:06More live music for you guys this morning. We are so

00:11proud to have in studio right now the winners of our kindergarten through

00:15eighth grade division of our Christmas Choir Competition which

00:18was brought to you this year by Hatfield.

00:21Carl Sandburg Middle School from Levittown. They drove all the way here

00:25this morning. I know it's early. Thank you for coming in

00:28and they are going to sing for you their beautiful version of their winning

00:31song Carol of the Bells. Yes but let's first

00:34speak with choir director Eddie Tamanini. Eddie come on over.

00:38A lot of prizes here with the Christmas Choir Competition

00:42Championship trophy. One of those a big five thousand dollars for your school's

00:46music program. You told us when we broke the news to

00:48you that you won on air what you were going to do with that money.

00:51How about it? An update? Yeah I mean we're looking to get some risers. That'd

00:54be good. Our the kids know our risers right now are a

00:56little bit of a safety issue. Yeah we would like to get some risers

01:00but yeah just to have that as a part of our

01:02booster program and to you know boost what we're building here is really

01:05awesome. That is amazing. Now when we talked to you a couple weeks

01:08ago and I said describe this choir. Do you

01:11remember what you said? They're a bunch of goofballs.

01:13They are. They really are and like their energy you know every day on a

01:17day-to-day basis is amazing and this is they're the reason like I do this right

01:20like it's all for them. It's the reason why any music teacher

01:23should want to do their job and I'm just very

01:25proud to be their director. Yeah well let's talk to a couple goofballs shall

01:28we? Okay Hannah where are you? Hannah come

01:31on over. You are in eighth grade. If you don't mind me asking what does

01:35it mean to you to be in this particular choir? Why do you love it so much?

01:39It's so cool because we all have formed a kind of family here and we all are

01:43like close with each other and it's really special to have that connection

01:47with everyone. Well you can tell you guys look like

01:49you're all BFFs. That's right. Where's Nate and Kyle? Come on over

01:54guys. Also eighth grade. Well let's see. Kyle

01:57you're in seventh grade. I mistakenly thought he was in 10th

02:00grade. All right so we mentioned the five thousand dollars

02:03for your school's music program. Also Sunday

02:07you guys are going to perform live at the TSO show right?

02:10The Wells Fargo Center. How excited? Each of you how are you?

02:14I can't wait. It's gonna be a real fun time especially with this group of kids

02:17that we all like Hannah said we all really do get

02:20along. I'm excited because it's like the first

02:23concert I actually went to and as Hannah and Kyle said we're all just

02:27like a big family now. That's awesome. Well you're gonna do fantastic

02:31and you're gonna perform live for us. We're excited.

02:34Okay well we're gonna do it right now so if you all want to get ready.

02:42our kindergarten through eighth grade division of our choir

02:45Christmas choir competition and they're gonna sing for you their winning song

02:56from Levittown. That was gorgeous. Now you guys were just singing so I know

03:01you didn't actually hear yourself on the radio but have you

03:04have you heard us play your song? Yeah I actually would play it

03:08while we were doing the voting and we would play it throughout the day

03:11so it's it's really cool. Was it cool? Was it cool to hear yourselves on the

03:14radio? Yes. Well thanks again. We wish you all a

03:18Merry Christmas. We appreciate you entering and of course winning. We'll see

03:22you on Sunday at the Wells Fargo Center. I know a lot
