00:51He was a world-scale figure, not only due to the fact that he was a copulent man,

00:59but also thanks to his belief.

01:04After my very first meeting with him back in 1993,

01:11and for a long period of time after he no longer was German Chancellor,

01:17he sometimes, regularly, not quite frequently, but regularly came to visit me

01:22and it was my distinct pleasure to talk to him.

01:28He was an important figure of his time.

01:31He had done a lot for his homeland, for the German people,

01:36and he was a real world leader.

01:41And I still have warm memories of many of our conversations.

02:33A bit different sort of personality, but nonetheless a very warm person was Berlusconi.

02:42Just as Chirac, he accomplished a lot for development of Russian-Italian relations.

02:48Regardless of what's happening right now,

02:50we feel some affinity to Russia among the Italian population,

02:54just as we feel the same affinity to Italians.

02:57They've all made a large contribution to the development of our bilateral relations

03:02and to the world policy, and it was interesting to talk to them.

03:07They were true personalities.

03:09They had their own opinion,

03:13and they were focused on achieving best possible results for their own countries

03:18and strengthening the sovereignty of their countries.

03:23Even now I have many friends in Asia.

03:27I've mentioned the friendly relation with China and India.

03:42those are my family members who are most important to me,

03:45and I have some friends from my childhood.
