00:00Cuba is prepared for the arrival of the new president-elect in the United States.

00:14We already experienced a period of Trump in his first term, and we are prepared to work

00:22in a second term with the president of the United States and with the government of that

00:27country, if it were in their interest.

00:31The first term of Trump's government was particularly aggressive for Cuba, but, as

00:39I say, we are prepared to start this new period and with many wishes to work with

00:46all our neighbors.

00:48The relations between Italy and Cuba are, above all, relations of great respect.

00:55Cuba and Italy have a tradition of friendship for many years, which has nothing to do with

01:03the government that is in the presidency or with the changes that exist in the world.

01:11They are consolidated relations of respect, of friendship, because many traditions unite us,

01:18a common history.

01:20The Italians like Cuba very much, they find in Cuba an environment conducive to making

01:26their investments and their business, and, in a general sense, I would say that there are

01:32very good relations and that we could strengthen them more.

01:36They have been the main emitters of tourism to Cuba.

01:40Italian tourism has always enjoyed the goodness of Cuban nature, and that is another

01:47of the aspects in which we have worked and I think we could continue to work.

01:52Certainly, this year has been particularly hard for the Cuban economy, and in the last

02:00two months, as you say, we have suffered several incidents, very unfortunate.

02:07The national power system has been disconnected on three occasions.

02:12As you said, we have had two strong hurricanes in the last two months, even an earthquake.

02:20It must be said that Cuba, like all countries in the world, is facing an international economic

02:27crisis that exists after COVID-19.

02:31And our country also has to face an economic, commercial and financial blockade that for

02:37more than 60 years has been imposed by the US government.

02:42And that, particularly under the administration of President Trump, was strengthened in times

02:49of pandemic.
