00:11I'm Tia Mori, and this is my Essence Magazine shoot.

00:19One thing that I am most proud about this year would definitely have to be my growth.

00:26I feel like I've grown a lot.

00:28I've evolved.

00:29I feel like I'm in this authentic, true, honest era of my life, and I'm just having,

00:37you know, a lot of fun.

00:39If this phase of my life was a song, it would be Who Runs the World, girls.

00:47Who Runs the World, girls, by Beyonce.

00:50I absolutely love Beyonce.

00:52She's just, she's amazing.

00:57Three words that would describe my current self.

01:03Evolved, fun, and authentic.

01:07The affirmation that I would love to tell myself in the mirror would be stay curious,

01:12stay unattached, and stay present.

01:15Go-to self-care tip, I'm gonna say meditation.

01:19It's just been so wonderful for me.

01:21It's like mind-blowing.

01:24My next big goal, or dream, to just continue to evolve and grow and reach my potential

01:33when it comes to being, you know, a good, decent human being, and also love.

01:40I'm just a huge believer in you really only get one shot at life.

01:48Take this opportunity and this time to do whatever it is that you want to do.

01:54I'm a go-getter, and I think it really takes you believing in yourself, and not waiting

02:00on anybody else to believe in you.

02:02So it starts with you first, and just going for it, you know, and not looking back.

02:12When you learn how to spend time with oneself, and really get to know oneself, and love oneself,

02:24you are able to have better connections with others.

02:28I've found that in my time of self-discovery and solitude, I've been able to even become

02:39more present with the people that I love.

02:42Whatever decisions that I've been making, and just how I've been moving through the

02:49world right now, I've just been very intentional with making sure that my thoughts and my behaviors

02:56are in alignment with what I want in life.

03:00I never knew how much learning about your inner child really, really affects your growth

03:13and your self-worth.

03:15So I think just doing a lot of inner child work, going back to that little girl, and

03:23saying, I got you, everything's going to be okay, trust the process.

03:30I have your back.

03:32It's just been so mind-blowing to me how that really, really has helped with just my self-growth

03:39and my self-worth, and just making better decisions for myself.
