Barack Obama still moves like he's POTUS -- almost 9 years post-White House -- a simple dinner date with Michelle at their fave Hollywood hot spot requires a remarkable Secret Service show of force.

00:00You know, when you're a former president,

00:01I guess date night is a bit more involved,

00:04what with Secret Service and all.

00:06But when Barack and Michelle Obama went out to one of their,

00:08it was clearly one of their favorite restaurants here in LA,

00:11there was a pretty amazing show of force.

00:13And I say amazing because they went to Mother Wolf

00:15on Saturday night, very popular Italian restaurant

00:18here in town.

00:19Hugely.

00:20But the motorcade and the number of Secret Service agents,

00:25LAPD that were around this Hollywood hotspot,

00:28it is different from what we've seen in the past.

00:31Part of this may be the environment

00:33after everything that happened with Donald Trump,

00:35but also-

00:36There's a connection with Mother Wolf.

00:38Yes, because you may remember,

00:40we broke the story back in September,

00:42they went to Mother Wolf and there was an armed man

00:45who was working security at a neighboring venue

00:48right next to Mother Wolf, on top of it actually.

00:51And he happened to walk up to the SUV

00:54where the former president was sitting.

00:57And then he realized, oh crap, I'm standing here

01:00with a gun.

01:01He got that close to the SUV.

01:03Now, we are told he got that close to the SUV.

01:07The Secret Service is saying it's not true

01:11that nobody got that close to the SUV.

01:14Without divulging sources,

01:18I'm not necessarily buying what they're selling

01:20because we had discussions

01:23with various people connected that night.

01:26And I got to tell you-

01:27Everything adds up to they were there.

01:28And everything adds up to that that really happened.

01:31Yeah, and we had even spoken to someone at the time

01:33who had claimed they had seen,

01:35they had also seen Obama in the backseat.

01:37And then he was sitting there on his laptop.

01:39So the fact they're coming out and denying it,

01:41but it also does, because of that incident,

01:43make total sense why this weekend

01:45we saw this massive presence.
