00:00The Office of the Civil Defense is implementing border control in the 6-kilometer extended danger zone around Vulcan Canlaon.

00:08We got an update from Jesse Atienza of PTB Cebu. Jesse.

00:13Yes, Louisa. We are here now in the town of La Castellana in the province of Negros Occidental,

00:21which is one of the affected towns after the eruption of Vulcan Canlaon last Monday.

00:28During this time, the mandatory evacuation of all residents living in the 6-kilometer extended danger zone is being carried out.

00:39Earlier, when we were passing through some barangays within the 6-kilometer danger zone,

00:44we met some farmers and family members who are taking care of their livestock

00:53for their livelihood, such as cows and calves.

00:57According to them, even though they don't want to leave their livestock,

01:02it is better to allow them to take care of their livestock.

01:06This is one of the preventive measures to ensure the safety of the residents.

01:12Border control and mandatory evacuation are also being carried out in the towns of La Carlota, San Carlos, and Canlaon.

01:20All of these are surrounded by the volcano.

01:22According to the advisory issued by V-Box, the status of Vulcan Canlaon is still under alert level 3,

01:29which was reported to have 14 volcanic earthquakes in the past 24 hours.

01:33According to some officials of the Office of Civil Defense Region 6 that we talked to earlier,

01:40their target is that by tomorrow, there will be no more people living in the 6-kilometer extended danger zone

01:48in the towns and villages surrounded by Vulcan Canlaon.

01:51Those are the latest news from the town of La Castellana in the province of Negros Occidental.
