00:08That which we call as discipline, even in the loose sense, is nothing but an invitation

00:13to pain.

00:14Is there discipline without pain?

00:16You have to get up at some point in the morning, doesn't that involve pain?

00:22Pleasure is to keep sleeping even after the alarm has rung.

00:26Is that not pleasurable?

00:28So all discipline is nothing but pain.

00:31Oh, it's very well directed pain.

00:34It's very discrete pain.

00:35But nevertheless, all discipline involves pain.

00:40Random or mindless pain will not help you.

00:42While random and mindless pain will not help you, at the same time, there can be no discipline

00:48without pain.

00:51And there can be no progress without discipline.
