00:00Most of the times, what people call as their responsibility is something that has been

00:05just taught to them.

00:06If you take them aside and ask them, how do you know that you are responsible for such

00:10a thing?

00:11They'll have no answer.

00:12I must be successful.

00:13It's my responsibility towards myself.

00:14I must have a great career.

00:15It's my responsibility towards myself.

00:17I must have a house.

00:18I must be able to bring up my kids in that way.

00:21How do you know that all this is your responsibility?

00:23I repeat, how do you know that you must do it?

00:26Had our responsibilities been genuine, then fulfilling those responsibilities would have

00:31been a source of great joy to us.

00:33The very fact that our responsibilities are a burden to us proves that our responsibilities

00:38are false.

00:39Real responsibility is real delight.

00:42Responsibility can arise only from self-knowledge, you see.

00:45If I know who I am, then I will know what I must do.

00:47And that which I must do is called my responsibility.

00:50So I cannot be responsible unless I have self-knowledge.

00:53But people act very, very responsible without having an iota of self-knowledge.

00:57How is that happening?
