00:00The government is also targeting the steps to attract more tourists to the country.

00:06In fact, several recommendations were approved by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

00:11for the promotion of our tourism.

00:20President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. approved the recommendation

00:24of the Private Sector Advisory Council to strengthen tourism in the country.

00:29Under the President's leadership, along with the PISAC,

00:31he approved several suggestions of the Council

00:34including the launch of the Shopping Festival Philippines

00:38which is being held this holiday season.

00:41The purpose of this is to incentivize tourists to buy more Filipino products

00:47to strengthen the tourism revenue of the Philippines.

00:50This is also in line with the VAT refund bill for non-resident tourists.

00:56In line with the new law, tourists can receive a refund

01:01for the value-added tax of the personal products purchased

01:04which is up to P3,000 in accredited retail outlets within 60 days.

01:10It is estimated that 30% of the expenses for tourists

01:14are expected in the new law

01:16which will benefit large industries

01:19as well as micro, small, and medium enterprises.

01:22The President also does not see a problem

01:25in the recommendation of the PISAC to facilitate visa access

01:28for Americans, Japanese, Australian, Canadian, Singapore, UK, and Schengen visa holders.
