00:00The 49ers got in a little bit more of a precarious situation.

00:07Sure, only trailing the Seahawks by two games, with still four remaining.

00:12But the thing that is more damning for the 49ers than the 6-7 overall record,

00:18well below expectation entering the year, is the 1-3 mark in the NFC West.

00:24If San Francisco is going to see the postseason, it's probably through the division.

00:29Which means Thursday is a must for the 49ers.

00:33Yeah, it's realistically almost an elimination game.

00:36Because if they lose this game, they're two behind.

00:38And they would lose the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Rams,

00:42because they lost to them earlier this year.

00:44So realistically, and now you'd be behind Seattle as well,

00:48you know, the season would be over for them.

00:50Now, they've controlled this series over the years.

00:53You know, there's always a positive and negative, right?

00:55I'll give you the positive for the 49ers.

00:58Since 2008, 23-10-1.

01:01Pretty good, including 9-3 the last five and a half seasons.

01:05So what could be the negative?

01:06Well, the negative is, Ben, they've lost the last two,

01:08including this year, to the Rams.

01:10So, you know, what good are all those previous numbers

01:12if these last two meetings it's turned out to be a Los Angeles Rams victory?

01:16You know, in both games in which they rallied, you know.

01:18And last year, don't get me started on that one,

01:20because that cost me a major, major pool,

01:23because I had the Rams winning that, or the 49ers winning that one.

01:27But bottom line is, it's do or die.

01:30You know what?

01:31Teams like this, they show some glimpses, you know, like the Bengals last night.

01:36You know, they're going to show some promise.

01:37They're going to get people hookered back in.

01:40But in reality, you know what?

01:42Nice win over the Bears.

01:44The coaches fired system.

01:45I thought Chicago was going to come out and play much better.

01:47They didn't.

01:48But I'll give them credit.

01:49But ultimately, there's just something wrong with the San Francisco team.

01:52I think the Rams win again.
