00:16The Stallion Laguna FC prevailed over Dakaia FC Iloilo in a championship match on Monday held in Rizal Memorial Stadium.
00:25In the second minute of the game, an early goal from the tournament MVP Chandler McDaniel was enough for Laguna to secure their first Women's Cup trophy.
00:34I mean, we wanted to come in and make a statement. We wanted to win of course. I know that I played, Olivia and I played in one game last season and you know, I know that the result wasn't what we wanted.
00:45So we wanted to make a statement, come back, exactly what we did and you know, we're gonna keep it moving. It's not just a one and done. We're gonna keep coming and next year we plan to do the same thing.
00:53Iloilo had the chance to tie the score but Stallion's solid defense caused Sheila May Cadog's shot to miss just seconds before the final whistle.
01:01Meanwhile, several key players were also recognized by the league.
01:06Olivia McDaniel won the Best Goalkeeper, Halilong was named Best Defender, Katrina Wetherill received Best Midfielder and Julissa Cisneros was a Top Goalscorer.
