I'm a Blackpool B&B owner and I have a collection of more than 1,000 puppets in my basement

A B&B owner in Blackpool is delighting guests by showing off his collection of more than 1,000 puppets.  Martin Scott Price has been collecting puppets since he was just five years old.  The 67-year-old now travels the country giving outdoor shows, entertaining children and adults with his collection.

00:12Here we are, this is a vast array of puppets the children go wow

00:17There's so many puppets here, but I'd like to have a little look yourself. These are my performing monkeys

00:23They've actually performed at the Blackpool Town Circus

00:28Here they go

00:30And this is Jacko, the performing somersaulting monkey. These were used many years ago on the fairgrounds and they actually

00:59Excited children to have a go on the fairgrounds. So that's the Jacko and his performing monkeys

01:59Well Macboozle is one of the most popular puppets that Bob Pelham put out, but I do have a 20-inch

02:19Pelham Puppet Macboozle, which is a very rare one and

02:23That came from my very special friend Roger Stevenson in Southport

02:29There's a tiny mini one that's Trug which I had when I was a little boy

02:33And I gave all my puppets away in my early teens to two adopted children

02:39Since now I've been buying them back quite a lot more expensive than when they first started

02:45Now the Father Christmas band, which you've seen a lovely collection

02:48they came from the Christmas shop, which was the old Woolworths shop in Blackpool and

02:55The shop was just about to close down and I did a little

02:59Deal with the owner and they've now housed here at the Puppet Museum

03:04Yeah, Pelham Puppet Museum here is located at the Pelham Lodge Hotel

03:12And if you want to come and visit the puppets and have a little performance
