00:26Arucanimon and Mumimon, Digimon Adventure 02.

00:37Near the end of 02, the insidious Myotismon is reborn as Malomyotismon thanks to the efforts

00:43of his servants, Arucanimon and Mumimon.

00:45Of course, Malomyotismon decides to reward them for their loyalty in a permanent way.

00:51First, he brutally torments Arucanimon, before finally ending her suffering.

01:03Mumimon lashes out at his treacherous master for killing his beloved partner, his anger

01:08overwhelming his fears.

01:10Sadly, Mumimon's bravery doesn't save him, as Malomyotismon disintegrates him out

01:15of existence.

01:16Considering how drawn out Arucanimon's demise was, one could argue that Mumimon got

01:22the better end, given how quick his destruction was.

01:24Either way, not even this devious twosome deserved such a gruesome fate, especially

01:30from someone they dedicated their lives to.

01:40Number 9.

01:41Dark Lizardmon, Digimon Tamers

01:49Under the orders of Yamaki, the covert organization Hypnos has captured a wild Dark Lizardmon

01:55and brought it to their labs.

01:56He has his scientists scan the beast, but it's a pointless procedure.

02:01Dark Lizardmon moans and wails in agony, begging for the torture to end.

02:06Unfortunately, it gets its wish when it evaporates into data at the end of the scan.

02:18Just to add insult to injury, Yamaki has the scientists wipe the data just to make

02:23sure the poor monster is gone for good.

02:26He keeps insisting that Digimon are not real, so killing them doesn't matter.

02:31If that were true, then why does watching Dark Lizardmon suffering fill us with dread?

02:42Number 8.

02:43Waymon, Digimon Adventure

02:53Metal Seadramon was one of the Dark Masters that conquered the digital world, and he set

02:58his sights on our DigiDestined.

03:00Thankfully, the friendly Waymon dives in to save them, carrying them as far away from

03:05the Dark Masters as possible.

03:08Unfortunately, Metal Seadramon catches up to them, and during another battle, Waymon

03:13suffers one of the most gruesome deaths in the series.

03:16Being skewered by Metal Seadramon's attack, his death is swiftly avenged with Metal Seadramon's

03:29destruction, and a small memorial is held for Waymon and everyone slain by the Dark

03:34Masters up to this point.

03:36We're not sure who was affected more, the DigiDestined or the younger audience who had

03:41to watch Waymon's gory demise.

03:50Number 7.

03:51Pumpkinmon and Goatemon, Digimon Adventure

03:57Pumpkinmon and Goatemon were two of Myotismon's goons who were sent to find the 8th DigiDestined

04:04for their master.

04:06Unfortunately for Myotismon, the two would rather goof off than commit any evil deeds.

04:11What's even more unfortunate is that Myotismon doesn't have patience for their shenanigans.

04:16While the two bravely tried to stand up to their former master, it wasn't enough, and

04:21Myotismon wiped them out of existence.

04:33The English dub claims that they were merely imprisoned in Myotismon's dungeon, but we

04:38know what really happened to them.

04:40Even if they were a little annoying, no one deserves a horrific fate for just wanting

04:45to have fun.

04:54Number 6.

04:55Beelzemon, Digimon Fusion

05:04The evil Leilemon is on a massive rampage that threatens to destroy the digital underworld.

05:09Our heroes have a plan to escape the underworld, but it'll be tricky with Leilemon on their

05:14heels.

05:15Fortunately, Beelzemon has a plan to save them all.

05:19He was mortally wounded in the last fight, and his injuries aren't healing.

05:23So he decides to use the very last of his strength to put an end to Leilemon and allow

05:28his friends to escape.

05:35This heroic act is personal for Beelzemon.

05:38He wanted to atone for the wrongdoings he committed when he worked alongside Leilemon.

05:43If giving his life to protect his friends accomplishes that, it was all worth it to

05:47him.

05:55Number 5.

05:56BlackwallGreymon, Digimon Adventure 02

06:06While he was created from pure darkness, BlackwallGreymon wasn't purely evil, but a lost soul seeking

06:12answers about his purpose in life.

06:14It took him a while to finally be at peace with his questions, just in time for him to

06:19make a heroic sacrifice.

06:21Myotismon's spirit has possessed Oikawa and threatens Cody's grandfather.

06:25BlackwallGreymon protects the humans, but gets fatally wounded in the struggle.

06:30Then, in one last-ditch effort, he used his dying body to seal the gate to the digital

06:35world to halt Myotismon's efforts.

06:42BlackwallGreymon's story is truly inspirational.

06:45Created as a weapon of mass destruction, but growing into a hero willing to sacrifice himself

06:50for the greater good.

06:55Number 4.

06:56Wyrmon, Digimon Adventure 02

07:07Even when Ken had enslaved the digital world as the Digimon Emperor, Wyrmon stood by him

07:12out of friendship and loyalty.

07:14However, when Ken creates the monstrous Chimeramon, the little green henchman has had enough.

07:20He sacrifices his life energy to help defeat the abominable Digimon and bring Ken back

07:25to his senses.

07:35He succeeds in the latter, but passes away in Ken's arms, while the former Emperor

07:39watches helplessly as his best friend disappears.

07:43Thankfully, this story has a happy ending, as Wyrmon was reborn later on, and Ken is

07:48given a second chance to make amends for his evil deeds, and he does not disappoint.

08:02Fridgimon, Digimon Data Squad

08:05When Kenan was a young human lost in the digital world, he was found by a motherly Fridgimon.

08:15She took him in as if he were her own son, and took care of him when he was ill.

08:19However, when the horrendous Karata arrived in the digital world and started poaching

08:24Digimon, Fridgimon was tragically among the casualties.

08:35Her dying wish for Kenan was that he wouldn't hate humans, but watching his motherly figure

08:41evaporate before his very eyes was too much for the boy to bear.

08:45His broken heart fuelled his hatred for humans, and given what the foul scientist took from

08:50him, can we really blame him?

08:57Number 2.

08:58Wizardmon, Digimon Adventure

09:06Years ago, Gatomon came across a vagabond named Wizardmon.

09:10She saved the ailing sorcerer from dying of thirst, and he became her closest friend,

09:16wanting to repay her for her kindness.

09:18Many years later, Wizardmon finally repaid his debt, but at a heavy cost.

09:23The cruel Myotismon launched an attack at Gatomon and Kari, but Wizardmon shielded the

09:28two and took the full blast.

09:36As he lay dying, he could only express his gratitude for Gatomon, showing how much their

09:41friendship had meant to him.

09:43Even after his passing, the ghost of Wizardmon still watches over Gatomon, reminding us that

09:48our loved ones are always with us, even in death.

10:12Leomon, Varius

10:22It seems like the name Leomon has become synonymous with death.

10:27Never since his heroic sacrifice in Adventure, there have been multiple instances of a Leomon

10:33being killed off in nearly every season.

10:36One of the most infamous instances was in Tamers, where Leomon was murdered right in

10:41front of his partner, Jerry.

10:43This caused poor Jerry to fall into a deep depression and set the stage for the final

10:47crisis of the season.

10:56These two moments still bring tears to our eyes and lead us to question what the anime

11:00has against Leomon.

11:02Even if Leomon isn't always killed, his alternate counterparts have shared his grisly
