Sorry, do you mind telling us where we are at the moment, Mayor Garland?
00:02
So down here we are really looking to cap off the Riverbend Park precinct.
00:07
So we're on what some people are calling the wrong side of the levee wall right near the
00:11
Kalamalookatay Morestry here, and yeah, looking at how this pump track has gone from a gravel
00:17
sort of unutilised car parking space for overflow into something that's going to serve our community
00:22
for decades to come.
00:24
So weather prevailing and being good weather throughout this time of year, we're looking
00:27
to be completed around late January, early February perhaps.
00:32
This pump track has been constructed to provide those opportunities for whether it's intermediate
00:38
or those who are more experienced doing the jumps that we've been able to have a look
00:43
at today, but there's also the beginner section over on the closer part to the boathouse there
00:47
as well.
00:48
So it really does cater to any levels of experience.
00:53
I think it's a really great initiative and really great dollar value for getting people
00:57
out and about, getting them to enjoy our spaces, particularly down here as we look at such
01:02
a pristine part of our municipality.
01:05
The cost of living and the social and economical issues that our community is facing, this
01:10
is another opportunity, it's something that's free, it's something that's offered, it gets
01:14
kids off the iPads, it gets adults out with their families and it's really looking to
01:18
be that capping off point of the Riverbend precinct.
01:21
It's connected to not only the seaport but also down to Royal Park there as well, so
01:26
it's a nice little loop.
01:28
And Royal Park's where the upgraded skate park's going, is that correct?
01:31
Yeah, so another community-led initiative with a lot of community consultation looking
01:35
at the design periods of that's now done, so we'll be looking to go out to tender for
01:39
that next year.
01:40
And again, it's really about trying to bring offerings to not just people that know how
01:44
to use stuff, but people that want to learn that beginner, that family-orientated, family-friendly
01:49
vibe.
