Head down to the beach and you'll be sure to find sun worshippers on the quest for that
00:08
perfect tan.
00:10
But with blue skies all year and the mercury hitting the mid to high 40s in summer, you
00:15
could be doing more harm than good by soaking up the Dubai sunshine.
00:20
So are people really concerned about sunburn or even skin cancer?
00:23
I worry about sunburn but I happen to have the type of skin that tends to go brown if
00:29
I was paler I would be more concerned and we're perhaps we're a factor 30.
00:34
With increased exposure to sunshine in the summer months, doctors are warning you could
00:38
be getting sunburned and not even notice it.
00:41
Like skin type 1 and 2, like very very fair people, Irish skin, blue, green, white, blonde
00:48
hair, they are gleef to not having ability to tan at all.
00:53
People with blonde hair and fair complexions need to be particularly careful under the
00:57
glaring sun, especially if they have multiple moles or if their family has a history of
01:02
skin cancer.
01:03
Like they should not select the peak hours of the day for activity, like from 11 to 4
01:08
pm and then they should have full protective clothing if they are going outdoor.
01:14
If they are exposing themselves then they should use high protection factors, sunscreen
01:19
30 plus and if they are indulging in water-based activities then they should be really apply
01:26
sunscreen once every hour.
01:28
Experts say there's a risk of sunburn even on overcast days because UV rays can get through
01:34
the clouds.
01:35
And if people don't slap on the sunblock when they head out to the beach, the embarrassment
01:39
of being a little red could be the least of their worries.
