00:09The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, or PHIVOX, says that the explosive
00:14eruption happened at 3.03 PM, producing a voluminous plume that climbed up to 4,000
00:19meters above the summit vent.
00:21PHIVOX also says that pyroclastic density currents, or PDCs, descended the slopes on
00:26the general southeastern edifice of the volcano.
00:29The agency raises Candlaon from Alert Level 2, indicating increasing unrest, to Alert
00:34Level 3, indicating magmatic unrest.
00:38PHIVOX warns that this indicates the start of a magmatic eruption that could lead to
00:42more explosive eruptions.
00:44The agency also advises the local government units within a 6-kilometer radius of the volcano
00:49to begin evacuations.
