00:10Amber Valley Borough Council's Cabinet made the decision to hand over the management of the former Heaner Grammar School to a private company
00:18following its multi-million pound conversion and refurbishment.
00:22Councillors say the renovated building is due to open in early 2025,
00:27nearly three years after taking ownership of the previously private-owned premises, with no firm opening date yet decided.
00:34The building's conversion into a community facility, with offices, event and business spaces, as well as a café,
00:41comes after the Council was awarded £8.6 million from the Government's Future High Streets funding in January 2021.
