00:00As a firefighting authority, a land manager primarily, but as a firefighting authority,

00:04we work in collaboration with the RFS, National Parks, DPI, across certain emergency management

00:12situations. But our role primarily is to protect our estate, our assets, so whether it be the pine

00:20asset out in the west here, Cypress Pine, down in the Riverina area, the River Red Gum, and

00:28obviously right across the coastal hardwoods, we're looking after native forest

00:32asset plus the native forest hardwood plantations as well.

00:46It's one of our core parts of our business to protect the estate, but because we're not doing

00:50it all the time, we need to refresh people, we need to get people thinking about these are the

00:54things that we need to be looking at, this is the way we need to communicate, these are the people

00:59we need to use for support, these are the agencies we need to talk to when we're entering into

01:04managing fire on our estate. So it's just about getting everyone back in that role and thinking

01:08about, yep, this is what we need to be doing. So it's a good opportunity, we get to see everyone

01:13across the state for this part of the year, gives people the opportunity as well to have their say

01:19and tell us what we are doing well and what we can potentially do better as part of managing

01:24fire across the business.
