Transcript
00:00Hello it's Martin Dempster the Scotsman Golf Correspondent here coming to you from Albany
00:08Golf Course in the Bahamas where it was really windy earlier in the week for practice rounds
00:15for the event hosted by Tiger Woods on the PGA Tour but as you can probably see from
00:22the saltire behind me that wind had dropped away for today's opening round. As a consequence
00:30American Cameron Young shot an 8 under par 64 and that earned him a 2 shot lead over
00:392 time US PGA Champion Justin Thomas. 5 players are a further shot back and they include defending
00:48champion and world number 1 Scotty Scheffler as well as Ludvig Eberg the young Swede who
00:55of course helped Europe win the Ryder Cup in Rome last year. Another member of that
01:00team of course was Bob McIntyre, Bob was also making his debut in this event this week and
01:08it was a solid start for the opening man. He was bogey free in carding a 4 under par
01:1568 to sit inside the top 10, didn't do an awful lot wrong to be honest, didn't feel
01:23he took advantage of the par 5's as much as he would like to have done, only birdied one
01:29of those but made 4 birdies and also made 2 good par saves at the 16th and the 18th
01:38to give himself some momentum going into the 2nd round tomorrow. Elsewhere Stephen
01:46Gallagher and David Drysdale are competing in the Champions Tour qualifying final stage
01:53this week and after the 3rd round, the 3rd round is actually ongoing at the moment, Stephen
02:00Gallagher still in the mix, David Drysdale was also under par today but he's going to
02:06need a low one to get one of those 5 cards up for grabs. To keep up to date with everything
