00:45states that the number of world billionaires has increased to 2,682 out of 2,544 billionaires in the previous year.

00:56And their wealth has increased to US$14 trillion out of US$12 trillion.

01:02In 2015, their total wealth reached US$6.3 trillion.

01:10According to the World Bank, the world's population reached more than 8 billion last year

01:15and the gross domestic product was US$105.4 trillion,

01:20underlining how much wealth is concentrated in a small part of the human population.

01:27Most of this year's new billionaires are the results of their own efforts.

01:31The UBS report for 2023 shows that new billionaires

01:35have more wealth through inheritance rather than entrepreneurship.

01:42The latest report, based on a survey of billionaires held between June and September

01:47and the data of the wealth of super-rich people,

01:50shows the risk of geopolitical conflicts and inflation as their main concern.

01:55The survey also shows that North America is widely considered

01:59to be the best investment recovery provider for next year.

02:03In the United States, the number of billionaires jumped to 835 out of 751

02:09led by industry and technology tycoons,

02:12with their total wealth rising to US$5.8 trillion out of US$4.6 trillion.

02:19In China, the number of billionaires fell to 427 out of 520 billionaires

02:28and their wealth fell to US$1.4 trillion out of US$1.8 trillion.

02:35In 2021, there were 626 in China,

02:41which totals more than US$2.5 trillion, according to previous UBS figures.

02:48Meanwhile, the number of billionaires in India rose over the past year,

02:52more than 1 in 5 to 185,

02:55and their wealth increased by more than 40%,

02:58to almost US$906 billion.

03:01In Western Europe, Switzerland joined the UK

03:04to become the second-highest number of billionaires after Germany,

03:08increasing the total from 10 to 85.
